See the Points Championship section below for a description of the
points-paying races.
Points Championship
The board adopted the following points-paying system for 2007.
1) As noted in the schedule, there will be two points-paying races at most events,
with the exception of race #3 (Road America) and race # 7 (VIR):
- Only participation points (see below) will be awarded at the Road
America event.
- The VIR race #7 event will have one points-paying race (the Group 7
race).
2) For HS2 (historic) cars and S2 (vintage) cars, points will be awarded on a regional basis
for the:
- North region - (Pennsylvania East and North, including Canada)
- South region - (Maryland South)
- West region - (Ohio West)
3) A driver's region will be based on his or her home address as listed in the NAC-SRCC
roster.
4) Unlike 2006, a driver can score points at any track, in any
region, and at any sanctioned event. (For example, SVRA, HSR, SCCA, VSDA, VDCA, VRG, VARA, etc.)
5) Points will be awarded as follows:
- five (5) participation points will be awarded to each NAC-SRCC member who
enters a NAC-SRCC eligible car at a sanctioned event.
- one (1) point will be awarded to each NAC-SRCC eligible car for each S2000 beaten
(eligible and non-eligible) at each race.
- At designated NAC-SRCC two-race
events (see the schedule above), points may be scored in each
points-paying race.
- At the VIR finale (race # 7), points may be scored in the
Group 7 feature race.
6) There is no "best of 'n' races" limit for points-paying events.
Note: At non-NAC-SRCC events, competitors are responsible
for obtaining official
scoring sheets and transmitting them to the official NAC-SRCC points keeper (to be
named).
Race Awards
Medallions will be awarded at feature races (generally the Sunday race).
Crystal trophies will be awarded to the winners of the VIR race
#7 S2000-only feature race.
