NAC-SRCC members and interested S2000 pre-1987 car owners...

The NAC-SRCC scheduling committee has three ideas in the very formative stages, and we invite your input and creativity.

Email us your reactions to these ideas at survey@nac-srcc.com. Be sure to include your real name and car marque and year. If you aren’t comfortable telling us who you are, we might not be comfortable with your suggestions.

Item 1) We would like to make our points championships more appealing and interesting to competitors from all regions that the NAC-SRCC is currently serving. Generally, we see ourselves as three regions today: South (or southeast), North (or northeast) and Midwest. We are investigating your interest in having champions for each of these regions. The overall winner in each class (S2 and HS2) would be determined by a Runoffs-like race that would rotate each year between these regions at a significant regional vintage event. There are naturally a lot of details and challenges to resolve, so now’s your chance to contribute to your club’s direction. 

Item 2) Next, we would like to introduce a new championship: The Endurance Cup – or some other groovy name. This would be for individuals or teams that prefer to run the enduro races that are commonly found at our sprint race events. Some of you really like these formats, and we think it would be nice to recognize and stimulate your efforts. How would you like to see this put together? How would we award points when there are two drivers? Should there be one or two classes? Should we have a spec tire? Let us know what you think.

Item 3) Finally, the overall schedule is getting an early and close look for 2006. We can’t actually firm up the schedule until the sanctioning bodies we race with announce theirs. Nevertheless, the past is a guide to the future, and we know where we’ve been. We also are bringing in members from far-flung places and we’d like to be sensitive to their geography. Is there a track with an appropriate event that we don’t go to today that might garner your support? Are there some that we might drop?
