NAC-SRCC Technical Bulletin #1 - January 25, 2005
Swift DB-2 Bodywork

The NAC-SRCC Technical Committee has been asked to clarify the proper configuration and dimensions of the legal and desired DB-2 bodywork, specifically the tail.

While the top overall length dimension, including the integral spoiler on the DB-5 tail, is identical to the top overall length dimension, including the detachable "duckbill" extension on the DB-2, it is mandatory that the top dimension of any car presented, under no circumstance, be more than 74" long.

The side dimensions of the tail in NAC-SRCC-legal configuration are required to be the dimensions shown in Figure 2.

The "duckbill," while preferably detachable as original, must be no larger than the dimensions in Figure 3. The duckbill is available for sale from Motorsports Composites in Wisconsin for a reasonable price.

The duckbill may be made of fiberglass or aluminum and must have a wicker mounted on a vertical plane at the rearmost point on the duckbill.

It is possible to reduce the side length of a DB-5 tail to the dimension in Figure 2 and attach a duckbill not exceeding the dimensions in Figure 3 for use in the NAC-SRCC series.

Remember, our goal is to present the cars in their most historically accurate form - specifically as they were raced before the December 31, 1986 eligibility cut-off date.

Rules Clarification

Recent rules related inquiries and tech experience throughout 2003 and 2004 have prompted the Board of Directors to issue a clarification of our existing rules. Our goal is to cause the least hardship among our members, be very clear about the rules and their application, and keep our racing fun and fair for all our members. Below you will find the full text of this clarification.

As always, the full regulations for NAC-SRCC 2005 Series are posted on our Web site's Regulations page.

Rules Clarification: NAC-SRCC members presenting a car at a race meeting not in compliance with the SRCC Sporting Regulations will be notified that weekend by the SRCC Board rep present that the car is non compliant and that the specific, identified non-compliant components must be corrected by not later than the 3rd race ("grace period") attended by that member. Failure of the member to make said corrections by the members third race will make the car/member ineligible for NAC-SRCC points. Members will be awarded championship points during the grace period. Likewise, a member renting or borrowing a single or multiple non compliant car will also be granted a 2 race "grace period" with earned Championship points awarded, but will be ineligible for points upon his or her 3rd presentation at tech inspection with any non-compliant car.

It is always desired that all member cars be in compliance with the Sporting Regulations, as soon as possible.

Chairman of the Board
NAC-SRCC
